Based on various requests and to accommodate everyone’s wishes and preferences, we have decided to move the date of Heroes Made in Asia to February 24th and 25th, 2024. It’s been two days since visitors came to Evenementenhal Gorinchem for Heroes Made in Asia! Did you miss the event or do you want to relive it? In this article you can read all the highlights of Heroes Made in Asia!

Heroes Made in Asia announces the date of their second edition and the start of ticket sales.

After a successful first edition of Heroes Made in Asia in October, we can announced the new date of our second edition: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May 2022 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem. Heroes Made in Asia is the meeting place where fans can share their passion for Asian pop culture such as manga, anime, Asian cuisine, cosplay, and gaming. Ticket sales start this Friday.

Crowd Manga

At Heroes Made in Asia you’ll find a field with 20 black and white drawings in manga style on canvasses. Manga’s and comics are usually made by a team. While an artist draws the black lines, another specialized artist provides the drawing with colors.

Just Dance – show your moves!

When you take a stroll through the game area, you’ll definitely run into the Just Dance Caravan from META. As you might expect, this is the place where you can play Just Dance! This dance game by Ubisoft will keep you moving and exercising without any need to leave your house.

Special Guest Veronica Taylor

We are delighted to welcome a very special guest this edition of Heroes Made in Asia. We are of course talking about Veronica Taylor! She is an American voice actress who has brought many characters in kids shows and anime to life with her voice.

Heroes Made in Asia is the place to be to meet new people!

Heroes Made in Asia is the place to be to meet up with others alike. Is anime your thing? Then you could pay a visit to the Dutch Anime Community and discuss with others why Naruto is your favorite anime. Is gaming more your thing? Challenge others to a smash bros battle! Or perhaps you’re always thinking about who you are going to cosplay next and you want make costumes yourself. Luckily for you there are plenty of others who would like to learn more about this as well.

Show your moves at Heroes Made in Asia

No need to sit still during Made in Asia! The Active Heroes area has been created specifically with exercise and movement as its main goal. Take part in different workshops about eastern marital arts like Laido and Kendo, or learn special dance moves during one of the Para Para workshops! You like everything about K-pop? Make sure you stop by the K-pop workshop!

Studio Royal Ink is present during Heroes Made in Asia

A very unique participant this year in Heroes Made in Asia is certainly Royal Ink located in Brunssum, South Limburg. In 2014 owner Nick Limpens founded tattoo studio Royal Ink in Brunssum. Now 7 years later, Royal Ink has become a true concept in the tattoo world and surroundings. Quality, Hygiene and personal designs are of paramount importance! And most importantly, Royal Ink will be present during Heroes Made in Asia 2021. 

Venzu introduces you to our new participants

Venzu is the Heroes Made in Asia mascot for everything regarding merchandise. Today, he will introduce you to the newest participants on the Asian market. The participants that we will introduce are Cute Stuff, Kami arts and Nippon Kawaii. In this article, there will be described who these participants are and what you can expect from them at Heroes Made in Asia.

Artists in the spotlight: Nikki Smits

We as Heroes Made in Asia have decided that in the next coming weeks, we will put our artists in the spotlight. This week we will focus on nikkismitsillustration. Nikki from Rotterdam is already two years a fulltime freelance illustrator. Additionally, she also will be part of the first edition of Heroes Made in Asia. In this article, you can read more about who she is, what you could expect from her, and why she is a good fit with our visitors.

Artists in the spotlight: Studio Vlinderdas

Komende weken zullen wij van Heroes Made in Asia onze artiesten op het evenement in de spotlight zetten. Deze week zijn we in gesprek gegaan met Joris Habraken van Studio Vlinderdas. Joris is momenteel een kunstenaar momenteel in opleiding op het AKV St. Joost. Met zijn enthousiaste en sociale persoonlijkheid past zijn zelfgenoemde ‘’ suikerige explosie’’ kunst volledig bij hem. In dit artikel gaan we verder kijken naar wie de persoon achter Studio Vlinderdas is, waarom hij deelneemt aan HMIA en wat jullie van hem kunnen verwachten op het evenement. 

Heroes Made in Asia postponed to 16 and 17 October 2021

The first edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con, scheduled for May 8 and 9, 2021, will be postponed to October 16 and 17, 2021. The current date is not achievable given the preparation time to organize a full event for the participants and visitors. We don’t want to leave our participants and visitors in this uncertain situation. This is why we have decided to postpone this edition to October 16 and 17, 2021.

Great news for Heroes Made in Asia

Good news for all fans of Asian pop culture: there is a green light for Heroes Made in Asia. During the press conference of June 24th, the Dutch authorities have announced that, from the 1st of July onwards, it will be allowed again to organize events and gatherings. 

Book your stand for Heroes Made in Asia

Exhibitors can now register for the first edition of Heroes Made in Asia. The first edition will take place on May 23 & 24, 2020 in Evenementenhal Gorinchem and approximately 10,000 fans are expected to visit this event.
