Cosplay is a shortened form of two words ‘costume’ and ‘play’. It is a performance art in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character. Cosplay costumes are often based on comics, manga, anime, cartoons, video games, movies and tv-series.
Do I have to go in Cosplay to Heroes Made in Asia?
You’re absolutely free to wear whatever you want! Sure, we find it super fun to see you fully dressed as your favorite character, but just wear the things which are most comfortable for you.

Please read our weapons and props regulations on the website.Â
Can I take photos of cosplayers?
Most cosplayers would love to pose for or with you. Please do ask them first, and always be respectful.Â
When is a costume to obscene or provoking?
Heroes Made in Asia is an all-age convention. All costumes must include a proper amount of skin coverage for public display, as we will have children present. When in doubt please contact Hype Creations via info@hype-creations.com or via their social media channels.
Can I change clothes on location?
Yes you can! There are dressing rooms available where you can complete your outfit.
When will you contact me about my registration for the Cosplay Contest?
We will let you know if you’ve made it into Cosplay Contest as timely as possible. As we get a lot of registrations this may take a little while. However, should you think something went wrong, please send us an email via info-made-in-asia@easyfairs.com.Â
What are the thematic limitations to the Cosplay Contest of Heroes Made in Asia?
Heroes Made in Asia focusses on costumes within the theme of the event. This means that the character you represent must come from Anime, Manga, games or pop culture of Asian origin. We’re pretty lenient on this, and will approve a character from Metal Gear Solid or Street Fighter, but not a Captain America, for example. If in doubt, please contact the Hype Creations team for details.
Can I participate in a costume based on fanart?
Participating in the Cosplay Contest for Heroes Made in Asia with a cosplay based on fan art is not allowed. The reference you use must come from an officially recognized source (Intellectual Property) and must clearly depict the character and costume. This is important because our international jury must be able to compare your cosplay to the reference and determine how well you have executed the concept. Upon receipt of your reference, the Hype Creations team will indicate whether participation in the contest is permitted. The verdict of the Hype Creations team is final.
Can I participate in a costume with which I have already won another prize?
This depends on the prize. If you have participated with your costume in a preliminary or international competition and have earnt prizes there, then certainly not. In most other cases you have. In case of doubt you can always ask Hype Creations.
