Everyone is welcome to watch or join in, all K-pop workshops are free. Take part in our K-pop workshops and K-pop Random Play Dances. Hear a song you know? Jump in, show your moves and dance along!

Sunday 22/03: K-pop Dance Cover Contest (solos/duos & groups)

Registration deadline: 8 March 2026!

After this date, no changes to music or other materials are possible anymore in order to ensure smooth organisation of the competition. You will receive an email once your registration has been confirmed. In case of cancellation, please inform us as soon as possible via the same email address (lianne.idzenga@easyfairs.com).

Information and rules

  • Participation is possible from 12 years old. Are you younger than 16? Then participation is only allowed under the supervision of someone who is 16 or older (e.g. a parent/guardian or chaperone).
  • Participants/visitors must arrange their own valid entry ticket for the event.
  • If there are more registrations than available spots, we will make a short preselection.
  • A dancer may only perform once per competition. (1x group and 1x solo/duo is allowed.)
  • The music must be between 1.5 minutes (minimum) and 2.5 minutes (maximum).
  • Exceeding this limit is not allowed.
  • A group registration consists of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 dancers.
  • The submitted music files must be renamed with the group’s name and must be in MP3 format. We do not provide any editing.
  • The music must be family-friendly.
  • No original choreographies: only the original K-pop choreography. If you create a mix, you may add a small part of your own choreography in the transitions or break sections.
  • Criteria that will be judged during the competition:
    • 40% Dance technique (synchronisation, timing, body placement, cleanliness)
    • 40% Performance (facial expressions, eye contact, interaction with the audience, energy)
    • 10% Formations and transitions, use of the stage
    • 10% Audience response

Jay Kim

jay kim

Jay Kim is an internationally renowned choreographer and dance trainer. He has worked with K-pop artists such as Luhan, Jay Park, The Boyz and more, and has taught workshops in over 154 cities across 64 countries.

He has previously worked as an instructor at:

  • 1Million Dance Studio in South Korea
  • Millennium Dance in Singapore
  • Loen Entertainment and Forest Entertainment as a dance trainer

 

As a judge, Jay Kim has been part of major competitions, including:

  • World of Dance (Turkiye, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia)
  • Multiple editions of the K-pop World Festival (including Peru, Nigeria, Ireland, Latvia, Spain, the UK and Austria)
  • K-pop contests in India, Sweden, Mexico and Central Asia

 

With his experience and international perspective, Jay Kim is the perfect judge to bring the K-pop Contest at Heroes Made in Asia to the next level.

Paula Catharina Wissmann

Dance has been a passion of Paula’s ever since she was a child. Thanks to K-pop, she became so inspired that she decided to turn her passion into her profession.
She completed a professional dance education and even moved cities to make her dream come true. Paula now works in the dance field as a performing dancer and teaches K-pop dance classes in Almere.
In her classes, fun and self-confidence are key. She loves discovering new K-pop music together with her students and helping them grow in confidence. Paula is really looking forward to being a judge at the K-pop cover contest.

Edie Ploeger

As a K-pop fan for 10 years and a K-pop teacher for 5, Edie definitely has experience with the genre. She graduated in performing arts and has been on stage herself many times. She has worked with many K-pop cover crews and is a current member of X-Dreamin’.
Edie cannot wait to see what the contest participants will bring to the stage!

Irene

Irene is a K-pop fan for over 10 years and has been teaching K-pop dance classes for 6 years at K-Motion. She followed dance training in Korea and even danced together with ChungHa for a TV recording.

Besides teaching, she is also the owner of K-Motion and organises workshops, showcases and now also the K-pop dance cover contest! Irene is incredibly excited to see everyone shine on stage. 💕

Justin

Hi! I’m Justin!
I’m a Dutch and English voice actor who is also working hard to become a Japanese voice actor. On top of that, I am part of the dance crew LUNARIX.

Justin has a love for many different forms of performing arts, and he is very honoured to be one of the hosts of the K-pop dance contest at Heroes Made in Asia 2026. He cannot wait to see all your stunning performances on stage!
