Zack Davisson is a familiar face at Heroes Made in Asia. He has joined the event multiple times and returns again to meet fans in Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Zack Davisson is an award-winning translator, writer, and lecturer. He translated classic manga Kitaro, Space Battleship Yamato, and Devilman, as well as modern works such as Satoshi Kon’s Opus, Record of Lodoss War, H.P. Lovecraft’s Call of Cthulhu, and Cat + Gamer. He is also the author of The Ultimate Guide to Japanese Yokai, The Art of Star Wars Visions, and Manga: A Visual Guide. His works have been translated into multiple languages.
An expert on Japanese folklore and manga, Davisson has lectured at schools such as Duke University, Annapolis Naval Academy, and Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia. He has contributed to exhibitions at the Museum of International Folkart, Wereldmuseum Rotterdan, Världskulturmuseerna Stockholm, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. He lives in Seattle, WA, USA.
Zack also worked with Gou Tanabe on H.P. Lovecraft’s manga adaptations an Shintaro Kago on Brain Damage, with Gou and Shintaro as the artists and Zack as the translator. Fans can meet all three creators at the event.
