There are several workshops during Heroes Made in Asia. In this article, we want to highlight two of these workshops. Side7 offers a Gundam Plasic (gunpla) workshop and Awesome Makes will show how you can create a luminous amulet.

Side7

Ever wondered what a Gundam Plastic (Gunplafor short) Modelkit is all about? Side7 will be at Heroes Made in Asia and so is their ‘Let’s Build Workshop’!

It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned builder or have never ever even touched a model kit before, the Let’s Build Workshop is for everyone. Our Side7 events team are at the ready to answer all your questions, be it basic building steps or advanced airbrush techniques. Also, don’t forget that you will be sharing the table with other fans of the hobby, so tips and ideas can definitely be shared as you are building away.

The newest addition to Side7 their workshop is airbrushing. Recently added to their collection is the GPaint airbrush paint series. Wherever possible they will be setting up airbrush stations to show you the ins and outs of airbrushing at their workshops. Many feel painting is a daunting next step, so we try to lower that barrier for you.

So, where do you sign up, and what do you need to bring? Very simple, just visit the Side7 booth and speak with one of their staff members. No sign ups needed. Although a model kit would be needed to start building….you’re in luck, they’ve got you covered! Special intro kits are waiting for you free of charge (disclaimer: as long as stocks last). If you want to bring your own model kit then that’s perfectly okay as well.

Awesome Makes

Incorporating electronics into your cosplay isn’t as difficult as you think! In the workshop provided by Awesome Makes you will learn how to build a luminous amulet without the need for any prior knowledge. In addition, Awesome Makes will show you what other possibilities there are, such as RGB LEDs, smoke and movement, and how you can apply these in your own costume. After the workshop, there is room for questions about the application of electronics in your own costume.

Do you want to make your own Sheeta Amulet (from Castle in the sky) and take it home at the end of the workshop? Then come to their workshop and claim your spot because there are only 30 places per day! Awesome Makes have all the materials ready for you and explain how to assemble the Amulet.

Are you interested in these workshops? Make sure you got yourself tickets for Heroes Made in Asia and visit the workshops of Side7 and Awesome makes!
