Is it your first time going to Heroes Made in Asia? Welcome! Here are a few tips to help you through the weekend.
What to bring?
To make your visit at Heroes Made in Asia safe and comfortable for yourself and other visitors, you can think of these things to bring with you!
CHARGING DEVICE
You might like to make a lot of pictures (ask for permission to take pictures with or from other visitors!), want to try to find your friends through text or check the HMIA program on our website. This can all result to your phone losing battery fast, so bring a charging device like a powerbank with you!
WATER
Don’t forget to stay hydrated! With so much to see and do at Heroes Made in Asia, it’s easy to forget to drink enough water. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle so you can refill it throughout the day. It’ll keep you energized and ready to explore everything HMIA has to offer.
WALKING SHOES
Make sure to put on some comfortable shoes for your visit (or bring them with you if your cosplay isn’t complete without their matching shoes). You make quite a lot of steps during Heroes Made in Asia, so you might as well make it a comfortable experience by wearing good shoes!
CASH AND CARD
In Jaarbeurs, there are no available ATM’s. Most stands require to pay by card, but some might prefer cash/coins. Make sure to bring some with you just in case! The nearest ATM is at Utrecht Centraal Station.
Travel
Heroes Made in Asia takes place at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. There are several easy and sustainable ways to get to the venue.
Bicycle
Utrecht is one of the most bicycle‑friendly cities in the world.
There are extensive cycle paths leading to Utrecht Central and Jaarbeurs.
Large, secure bicycle parking facilities are available near the station and the venue.
If you live nearby or stay in Utrecht, coming by bike is a healthy and sustainable option.
Public transport (recommended)
We recommend travelling to Heroes Made in Asia by public transport.
Use Utrecht Central station (train, tram and bus). From Utrecht Central it is only a 5‑minute walk to Jaarbeurs Utrecht. Follow the signs to “Jaarbeurs” from the station.
Travelling by public transport helps reduce traffic and CO₂ emissions, and is often the fastest way to reach the event.
Carpooling
Car and P+R
If you still choose to travel by car, there are two options:
Parking at Jaarbeurs: You can park at the Jaarbeurs car parks P1–P4, all within walking distance of the venue.
Use a P+R location (recommended for drivers):
We advise you to use one of the several affordable P+R locations around the city of Utrecht.
A combination ticket for parking and public transport to Utrecht Central station costs €10,00 per day for up to 5 people. Utrecht Central station is located right next to Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Recommended P+R locations include:
P+R Westraven
P+R Papendorp
P+R Uithof
